I have blogged before about my admiration for Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer. Well, I’m watching a marathon and have just seen the all-time best episode of the Dog Whisperer! It’s the one with the aggressive Rottie named Apollo, who bonded with a teenaged girl – an animal lover with a HUGE heart who works at the kill shelter where the dog was about to be destroyed. Has anybody seen this one? The ending! I won’t give it away. I’m covered in goosebumps.
Meanwhile, I have whispered my girls into a “calm, submissive” state.
Ann:
Is there a way to find out when this specific episode of “The Dog Whisperer” might be broadcast again? You have me mighty intrigued! My son owns a Rottweiler, which provides me with an additional interest in this episode.
By the way, good job with your girls!! They look very sweet when they’re sleeping, don’t they?
Hi Elizabeth, it was just on. It was a contest episode. They had thousands of people show up at Petco with their messed up dogs, trying to get Cesar to help. They chose the most “needy” cases. I watch very little TV but love this show.
Thanks for the description of the episode, Ann. After reading your posting about Cesar Millan and his show, I immediately put “The Dog Whisperer” into my DVR prioritizer list. (Actually, I’ve meant to do this for months, since you first wrote about your and Denis’s love for this show.) Maybe this episode will be broadcast again soon. But I’ll enjoy the series, regardless. Thanks again for writing about another of your passions. It’s always interesting and eye-opening to learn about the interests, loves, and enthusiasms of someone I admire and respect.
Whoa…wouldn’t want to be on crowd control for that episode. One thousand dysfunctional dogs and their families. Showing up to the same place. This I have to see. Might sit my two pups down to watch this episode. So, how long did your girls stay calm and submissive?
Daphne – always calm/submissive.
Lulu – getting there
Ann, did you pull the lounge chair up to the bed so they could lay next to each other or did they do it themselves? ha! Who is the queen and who is the princess, kind of hard to tell. Found all the info you shared in yesterdays’ blog so interesting about the horses. I know you guys have to travel from time to time, who holds down the barn when you are away?
Oh Ann, I can’t bring myself to watch that episode….I cry whenever I see a Rotti as I miss my Cindi so much still, she died Aug 6,’07 one month shy of her 11th birthday….
As I tell the kids one day I will have a rottweiller farm with some other breds mixed in…I absolutely love dogs…
Great job in getting your sweet girls to relax, that is a precious pic of them..:)
That was one of the first episodes I watched. I was blown away with Cesar and the show.Since I discoverd the show, late myself. Of course now,I’m hooked. I recently sent my friend in Pa., the dvd set, since she now has 5 dogs, and never saw the show. Her husband is great with animals and had to see this show. I could not get it to them fast enough. Needless to say they were amazed and said they were learning so much from it. I knew she would love him. I’m unsure if that one is on the dvd’s,I think I bought her the third season. I somehow felt sad for the original trainer, the girl,I wanted them to end up together, but it was so interesting to see her interact again with the Rotti. Great story for a beautiful dog and a boy. surpirse ending definetly. We have two dogs, but I want to get a third. I love the standard poodle., I had a toy for 19 years and miss her so much., I just don’t know if we can fit anymore dogs in this tiny house! darn! well, maybe.. lol…. yes.. maybe… we shall see…
