Re: paragraph on forgiveness, I think it was posted around the time Ann and her sister went to Florida to see their dad in a dinner theater. This is the part posted on my fridge, it seems to say what I was feeling but couldn't verbalize. When I read it, I was thinking 'Yes, yes, that's what it is!'
If for anything, let it be the quiet peace that you will find by letting go of the "old recordings that play over and over again" to no avail. Forgiveness unlocks the strongholds on one's soul and psyche, those that we sometimes are unaware of until we truly forgive ourselves and those who have hurt us. It is a continuing process as we grow up and raise our own families. I can only assume that our parents did the best they could in their minds, regardless of how we see them.
The time to begin, is always now.......
Our reaching across the table to forgive, also becomes a life lesson that our children see as well. It starts one step at a time. One brick taken away from the wall, sometimes to be put back quickly, and then down again. Little by little - we take a breath of life as we let go of the junk and baggage that hold us captime. Little be little we become whole.......

Oh Ann, I love how you say "might have to get a puppy" as though you might not get a puppy!!! We all know that the cute, tiny , little runt is coming home with you--the question isn't if he will, but when.... our first dog was the runt of the litter, and she remained the sweetest, kindest, most gentle dog the entire 16 years of her life. So, just get his bed ready--the runt has a home ! Barbara

PS--Tracy--I'm in-let me know the date !!

Just want to make sure the proper brother is getting the props he deserves. It is Carolyn's brother. (Catherine/Carolyn, Tomato/Tomahto).

I've never seen "Rescue Me," but sometimes I fixate on the WTC jumpers. People who went to work in the morning like any other morning, and an hour or so later were plunging to their deaths. It was such a huge and horrible event. I lost my job after 9/11. My boss who drove a huge SUV with an American Flag sticker on the back assured us no one would lose their job, but that we would have to tighten our belts, and watch our expenses. Two days later we were escorted out of the building. "We" being the ones who were trying to unionize. Lying SOB. At least we didn't have to jump out of the building, right? We actually got to gather our things and carry them out, although we were prevented from even saying goodbye to those who remained. My life went on, and for a few years there things weren't so bad. Now, the recession has caused me to lose my job again. Well, I haven't really lost my job, my boss actually likes me -- he would be happy to have me show up and work everyday -- it is just that he can't PAY me. I just found out today, my paycheck will bounce. In better times, I may have been able to weather this storm, but I am broke, I am in debt, and very soon (after I sell all my stuff) I will very likely be homeless. This is how it happens, folks. Luckily, I don't have any pets to abandon, so you don't have to worry about any cute furry creatures losing their home. Just me. Maybe I will start a blog "How I Survived the Recession" -- that's hopeful, right?
