Ladies and gentlemen, now that I know how to use the editing software Final Cut, you will no longer be viewing lame-ass videos on this site. You will be screening my short films.
My work, if you will.
Today, I present, “Two Horses, Two Women” a low-budget film I shot this afternoon and which has a score I stole is an homage to the classic French film, un Homme et une Femme
I’m no longer using YouTube and can’t figure out how to embed on Vimeo, so I’m afraid you’ll have to click below to view.
That was so sweet !! I loved it !!
Dear Ann, A charming before-bed film pour moi! I especially loved the splashing horses (and the accompanying music) as well as their perfect ‘dos! (Braids on one, bangs on another!)…
Small art houses AND film fests to start, don’t you think?
awwwww lovely film
I love Mark’s Braids!
Highly enjoyable!
Very cute. I really have to get Zeus over to Steep Rock.
I am unable to view, now I am very sad.
I just watched a piece on GMA on bed bugs and can not stop scratching, I am going crazy.
Loved your newest FILM. Any moment now that Jerry Weintraub will be knocking down your door.
And am I the only one that noticed a brief appearance by Ghost Girl?
What a magical start to my day. Just loved the horses, the music, the scenery, the whole dang thing.
Oh, I’ve been longing to see Mark! Thanks!
Very artsy. I have taken a moment from my busy vacation (okay, I’m at the beach and it’s foggy) to view your film and I must say, it is a shining example of your talents. Keep it up! And please, pray that it isn’t foggy along the central California coast tomorrow! This is just a quick trip, and I want to be able to see the ocean. I can hear it….and see it, sorta. The dogs don’t seem to care, though, so I am trying to learn from them and just be here.
Ann, your work is lovely. I was particulary impressed with the shots of the hoof action (stirring up the water before drinking.) So sweet.
Sandra, are you in Cambria right now? It’s my favorite place on the planet. Have we talked about this before? I’m having a deja vu moment.
Candy, bed bugs are serious business. I used to think they only existed in that saying “Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.” But then one of our residents got them in her unit (from a quilt a friend gave her). OMG, it is hugely expensive and very complicated to get rid of them. But we learned a neat trick to make sure your hotel room doesn’t have them (very common to pick them up in hotels). Put your laptop on the bed (on top of the sheets). The heat from the laptop will attract the bugs fairly quickly. If you see a colony assembling under your lap top get the heck out fast!
Hi, Catherine, YES, I am in Cambria! We have spoken before about our mutual love for this lovely little coastal town. My favorite haunt is having a fabulous last-minute special that just happened to come about during my vacation, so I threw some things in a duffel bag and drove up this morning. A friend is coming up tomorrow with her Wheaten Terriers, so I am hoping the sun comes out along the coast. It was sunny and beautiful in town, which is what–1/4 mile away? My two Wheatens are happy. I’m happy. Watching HGTV and drinking a glass of Pinot Grigio. All’s good. I may watch Two Horses, Two Women again in a bit. I get something new each time I view Ann’s film.
Oh, and I just put my laptop on the bed. No colony assembling under it, so I think we’re good!!
Beautiful short film. I love the horses! Love to see them splashing in the water. They seem to like it, don’t they. Does anyone know why they do that? Are they playing?
Cat, I had bed bugs last winter. I cannot even begin to tell you the horrors involved in getting rid of them. Steam, beagles (sniffer dogs), rubbing alcohol, and lots of miserable nights. I cannot imagine going through that again.
Oh, and there’s even a bed bug blog.
Sandra, I’m so envious! (And yay, no bed bugs!) I hope the weather is cooperating for you. I am now craving an ABC Burger from the Main Street Grill. And then a chocolate eclair from Linn’s. Mmmmm…
Ais, I didn’t know you went through the awful bed bug trauma. It’s the absolute worst! I’ll take bats over bed bugs any day.
Catherine, the weather is perfect today in Cambria. Sunny and in the 70s. We drove up the coast a bit to watch the elephant seals, walked along the boardwalk and saw the sea otters playing in the water, and now I am eating a piece of cold leftover pizza (yum). The pups are napping. I’m not sure where we will eat dinner tonight. My friends should be arriving soon, and I will let them decide. So many good restaurants in this little bitty town. Oh, and I agree, Linn’s chocolate eclairs are mmmmmmgood! Okay, I am going to go park myself on an adirondack chair and gaze at the Pacific. Hope everyone is having a good day.
Loved the braids too! Made me think back to when I had those very braids in my own hair. Yes, I thought I saw a glimpse of Ghost Girl as well. It’s steamy hot here in Pennsylvania and I can’t wait for the brisk breezes of autumn. Love drinking a glass of red wine curled up in a blanket on my deck.
Dear Ann:
To say again, that your blog is a sane place! and thank you for it. Also, wondering if the weather will reach whereabouts you live or not. You should take photos (and post them) of that if it does!!. I mean, this is summer time.
Love the braids…only Mark could pull off such a look!
I LOVE MARK! Are you going to cut his mane & spike it up?
I don’t know which was more beautiful, the Saddlebred’s or the scenery. I could spend days camping on that stream.
Regarding Mark’s braids, his mane is very thick and bushy, owing to his dodgy breeding. He’s half-Morgan, half-Percheron. They are both hardy breeds that tend to have thick, unruly manes. I have always “roached” the mane (in Massachusetts we used to call this haircut a “whiffle”) but this year Jenny Carolan, who owns the barn/4-Seasons resort where I’m boarding him, is helping me give hem a more respectable mane. She braided the main so that it would all stay on one side. Now it’s all trimmed. I’ll post a photo of his makeover soon.
