Ann, this bed-desk show and youtube video snapped me right out of the crappy mood I was in today. I am still laughing (ok to be honest it’s more like snorting/guffawing)at the video of Holly & Gomer “dancing”. Thanks for making me smile!
Oh my gosh! I just hope that’s a king size bed.I couldn’t stop laughing! They are just the cutest things ever Do they even let you go to the bathroom alone?? Ha ha!
It appears that Miss Daphne got into the cat nip, and you cut your head off through most of the interview, just too funny. Save that 4 leaf clover for luck you know.
oh! my daughter and I collect old household and etiquette books too! My fave is called A Thousand Ways To Please A Husband” by Louise Bennett Weaver and Helen Cowles Le Cron, pub. 1917.. It’s a chapter/cookbook about a newlywed couple Bettina and Bob, and each chapter is an adventure the newlyweds have ( “Motoring With the Dixon’s”, “Bettina’s Porch Party”) with a few pages of exposition in which Bettina’s extreme thrift and household skills are illustrated followed by a few pages of recipes (Sunbonnet Baby Salad, Escalloped Cabbage). aannnddd…it’s illustrated!
LOL, funny!! Those dogs are too cute, especially Daphne with the sock!! Daphne is not at all deterred by your discussion of the books, she just wants to be petted.
I want to hear about some of the games. I have some little books like that from my grandmother. You made me want to go find them. I’ll let you know if I come up with anything interesting.
I’m sitting at my desk, watching this at the end of a long work day, and giggling (good thing no one else is around right now!) I love how you are unaffected in your reading or sharing by those massive and adorable creatures vying for your attention. Thanks for sharing the inside of that last book. I love looking through old books and finding bits and bobs the former reader left behind. I especially like when a book has an inscription. Keep reading & sharing Ann!
Just happened to stumble upon this via Facebook….love this! U have combined my fave things…. books and dogs! Bed desk show is awesome. Thank u for the laugh!
Are you wondering why Gomer and Holly were so anxious to jump off the bed?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBpSZudlHrA&feature=youtu.be
It appears that Holly is a brazen hussy, not that I would ever call her that, I’m just sayin’ it appears that way.

Well. Okay. I just don’t know what to say….
Seriously, I am dying here!
Looks like dogie porn to me.
Ann, I am SO looking forward to talking with you, Laura and Wendy—but I will NEVER be as (wildly!) entertaining as these guests! Oh my….
OMG, that was funny!
I meant that in reference to the you tube video.
I love that Daphne always comes to the ‘Bed Desk Show’ with some kind of gift! This time socks – last time I think she brought a pink boot.
The way you rubbed Daphne’s belly….one would think she was part kitty-cat!

Seriously, no. Holly and Daphne throw themselves against the door

Lori-Your book sounds like so much fun! I’m visualizing Dick and Jane readers for grown-ups….
SO great.

You have a very enthusiastic “audience”! I’m enjoying the Bed Desk Show.
Bed Desk Video is great – and youtube hilarious! That Holly sure can dance! And Daphne is a riot.
I wondered if Gomer liked to go on the bed. I love how when Daphne whacks Gomer in the face, he doesn’t even blink. What a sweet boy!
Hope the Bed Desk Series will be a permanent part of the blog. It’s the best!
Those old books sound fascinating. Thanks for showing them to us.
Ann –
Did you see the Dr. yet about the Lyme?
I left some info about Lyme Disease under the April 6 Bed-Desk Late Show Post. I hope you will go back and read it.
Yes, I did see that and thanks Linda. I’m seeing DR on Wednesday
