Ann, I googled for a very long time and this is the closest to my problem which happened to me today. I was late for work and parked my car in a garage and jumped in a cab. I LOST THE TICKET!! I can’t find my car. All day I went from garage to garage in the city looking for my car…hours! I’m going to try again tomorrow. Please tell me how you found your car!! I’d really appreciate it.

Oh, I have done that too! And someone close to me, I won’t say who — OK, it was my sister — a few years ago went to unlock her car after grocery shopping. It was the car her husband usually drives, and she hates it. After fiddling and fiddling with the key in the door-lock, the key breaks off so that some remains inside the lock. Now she’s stranded. So she calls her husband on the cell phone, cursing and irate and spouting about how much she hates this car. He drives over to the shopping center to rescue her and immediately recognizes that it’s the wrong car. Their car was a few aisles over. Unlocked. I’m not sure how they ever handled explaining to the owner of the other car why they were trying to break into it.

I had to come back to this comment to tell you that I used this bit of advice just yesterday at Brazos State Park, where I’d never been riding before, and where the over-30-miles of trails all began to look alike to me after 3 hours of fun-but-exhausting adventuring. (I think I passed the same alligator 5 times) There aren’t a lot of water sources along the deeper trails & this photo-taking tip saved my (frying to a crisp) bacon. A big, huge, Texas-sized Muchas Gracias to both of you! And I guess you too, Ann, for the post in the first place

I downloaded a great free app for my cell phone called Carrr Matey. It is pirate themed and you “drop anchor” where you park and when ready to leave “find vessel” and GPS leads you to your car. Of course it won’t help if you can find your phone…..

Actually, Marjorie, it happened to me at a young age. I started menopause at 39. Not prepared for that news at the age of 39. At least now I have a good excuse for my forgetfulness!! Thanks for the laugh.

Uh huh…one time when it was pouring rain my sister ran like crazy to her car…only to find some strange guy in the driver’s seat…needless to say, her husband and daughter made it to the right car.

I love the if-you-can-find-it part.

I do that at forks of unfamiliar trails in the woods, too.
It helps with decision making on the return trip and giving directions to someone else.
