I know it’s short notice, but for those in the Connecticut area looking for something to do tonight, why not come to R.J. Julia Bookstore in Madison, CT tonight at 7:00? Why? Beause the amazing Lee Woodruff will be there reading and signing copies of her fabulous new novel, Those We Love Most.
Lee is a dynamo. When she’s not on book tours with her bestselling books, managing her busy family and appearing regularly on CBS This Morning, she’s raising money for our veterans. Lee works tirelessly for the Woodruff foundation’s Remind.org which assists wounded service members in the often difficult transition to the home front. I know personally how hands-on Lee and her husband Bob are in their work helping our veterans and their families and I truly admire them both.
I’ll be there at 7. Can’t wait!

The book sounds great, I will check it out. I wish I could attend the signing.
In other news, I’m so happy you’re blogging regularly again!
Thanks Tracy!
Wish I could be there,, enjoy. I agree with Tracy,, glad to see you are back on the blog.
Thank you Mary!
Wish I could be there. I really admire Lee and Bob Woodruff. And I agree with Tracy and Mary, it is great to have you blogging again, Ann. Hope to get some updates on the horses and the dogs soon!
The ladies said it all. Lee and Bob have my utmost respect. Hope the book signing was mobbed…sorry to miss it.
I too am enjoying your posts again.
Btw, have you filled your own calendar of appearances and signings yet? Bet inquiring minds will want to know about every one.
…And… I hope you’re getting a chance to ride on these amazing fall days!
Ann, thanks so much for telling us about Bob & Lee’s work helping our Veterans; I love hearing this kind of uplifting news!
Maybe Lee will come through the Houston, TX area on the book tour and I’ll have a chance to show up and support her writing. I know selling books is the end-game of a book tour, but I also get excited about the way readers are engaged in conversations about narrative, imagination, and the entire creative process. I especially like all the “backstage” stories – when authors/poets share their experiences around all that transpired to bring the books into the readers’ hands. You know, those single-mother writing in coffee shop, middle-aged woman who dusted off her 20 yr-old manuscript to revise it after surviving a brush with death, and the dad of five getting up at 3 a.m. to write in his truck before starting work on the construction site, kind of background stories. Those personal revelations of overcoming obstacles can really inspire other writers and artists to keep on keepin’-on; that kind of connection, I think, invests readers even further in a book, with the author who both envisioned and realized it. I’m always hungry for more of that art & literature infused community, and I love encouraging and celebrating other writers and their successes. Though, I have to say, I’m extremely jealous of you all up in the greater New York & Boston areas because you seem to get exponentially more readings up over that-a-way than we do down this-a-way. Maybe publishers think we’re too busy herding our cattle and polishing our spurs to take time out to attend readings
PS, patiently awaiting more kitten photos & tidbits!
I have read her other two books and she is a fabulous writer. She has such a great personna about her- I missed her in Mpls recently. Have fun!
Thank you so much for the recommendations…..I looked the book up and found nothing but good information on it. So now I’m ready to read it !! And I’m with Tracy–glad to see you back here again ( and I must admit, I like being back here too-nice to return to a warm, welcoming circle of friends) !
