Ann, that’s beautiful. Reminds me of our trip to Miami the week after we got engaged. Ah, memories.

It sounds like you’re getting back in time before the snow onslaught on Wednesday for us – sounds like we’re going to get hammered!

Aislinn…you are hilarious, my dear!! Pump that gas! xo

  2. Arliss says:

Ann, wishing you and your family a lovely rest of your stay. Thanks for sharing these little tidbits of your trip — it’s so much fun to “vacation” vicariously! Enjoy the warm weather and those beautiful Florida skies.

  3. Guadalupe M Pankratz says:

I posted two photo albums… of snow back East… rain in the West, nice beaches (no that they look like that now) and Penelope Cruz. In Facebook.

A bit cranky due to lack of sleep for five days..
Here is a sample of the music…

No wonder the fellow has dark circles under the eyes..

I am going to be missing Wuthering Heights (saw movie whenI was 13) and Rebecca… but I shall read up on this blog.

    Packing packing and organizing…

  5. Kim says:

Arliss: I SO agree…….Heathcliff – so handsome. Heather on the moors – the end when he carries her to the window……SIGH

  6. Bev says:

Nice sunset……! Think might book a small get away today….. feb/march too cold in NE!

  7. Arliss says:

What a great film pairing tomorrow! Thanks so much for the heads up, I’ll definitely tune in. Two great pics. (I find Olivier as Heathcliff quite devastatingly dashing!)

  8. Ann Leary says:

Oh, forget it. I just went to TCM website and saw that it’s at 1:45. We’ll be having lunch with my dad then. Oh well, you guys can still hang out here while you watch.

  9. Ann Leary says:

I can’t believe Rebecca is followed by Wuthering Heights tomorrow. It is tomorrow, right? Everybody, try to finish the book by tomorrow and we can weigh in during the commercials . It’s my favorite film adaptation – couldn’t have been more brilliantly cast. Oh poor, poor ……the new Mrs. deWinter). Then Wuthering Heights? I guess it’s Olivier night.

  10. Mary Lynn says:

Amazing photo — what a sunrise! I grew up on the West Coast so to see the sun rise over the ocean is really weird to me. Ann, you were up early . . . must have a big day planned.

Enjoy the lovely weather — raining steady here in Vegas. So, I’m singing “The sun will come up tomorrow! Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, they’ll be sun!” In Vegas, that’s a pretty good bet. Winter rain means snow on the mountains, and the mountains are beautiful here . . . most folks don’t think of Vegas and snow and mountains, but we got ‘em.

Barbara, I second that emotion re: TCM. I’d never seen “The Shootist” from start to finish, and after that “Lady Sings the Blues” was on. I remember seeing that in the theatre when I was young. Tonight I’ll watch “Bonnie & Clyde”. I’ve never seen “Rebecca” (followed by “Wuthering Heights”) and it has been ages since I’ve seen “8 1/2″ — don’t know how this will clash with my Super Bowl viewing.

Guadalupe — love your post, especially the Seagull part. I lived a little inland (Castro Valley) growing up and when we saw seagulls flying around we knew a storm was coming in.
And speaking of “Birds” I also lived near Bodega Bay . . . those seagulls may be cocking their heads and looking into your eyeballs thinking . . . hmmm . . . in a pinch. Couldn’t resist . . . it was only a movie.

Absolutely beautiful, you don’t need words…Enjoy. We have 30 inches here. See my FB page for pics. Send some sun this way please lol

  12. Jane says:

Wow, Ann! Thanks for reminding us what the sun can do. We’re getting hammered with snow in Richmond. Gusty winds too. Enjoy your warm winds/sunshine.

  13. Candy says:

Ann, don’t worry about us, save yourself and stay in Florida. At least we missed the big snow here, can’t complain.

  14. Kathie says:

    Beautiful sunrise!!! :)

I just got back this am from Portland, Oregon, it rained the entire week I was there, then when I got back to Alaska it was snowing….Seems I can’t win weather wise for nothing!!!
I am going to Kauai in April, anyone want to take bets it will be humid and raining????

  15. lisa says:

    aislinn -
i went a bit farther and actually did some zumba moves…. all while shoveling two feet of snow off my deck – no instructor nearby, though.

  16. Barbara says:

I know this goes with the last posting….but Mary Lynn, I’m with you…I also love the TCM 30 days of Oscar!! Some are movies I’ve never seen or haven’t seen in ages. Great winter watching !!!

  17. Lynne says:

No poem necessary with a pic like that! Enjoy your weekend Learys…it seems the rest of us will work on staying warm1

    Aislinn-You crack me up!

  18. Alan says:

Thanks, Ann, for the spectacular reminder about what ol’ Sol looks like; for the most part, he’s been missing in action around here lately. And thanks, Aislinn, for today’s smart-assery. Well done!

  19. Amanda says:

Ann, thanks for that photo, we haven’t seen the sun in days so it’s nice to see it’s showing it’s face somewhere.
    Aislinn, you are TOO funny!

  20. Annie says:

    Ann, ohhh, nice!

    Aislinn, funny

    : )

  21. Kim says:

LOL Aislinn – you kill me. Geez – Lisa/Barb big snow coming – I think the South side of Long Island is going to get 5-8 inches. The North side is where I am and its calling for 1-3. Who knows – right now I wish the Yuletide channel with the fireplace was on. Obviously we don’t have one and with book in hand – it’s the second best thing to a real one.

Ann – beautiful photo. Keep rubbing it in – LOL! Grrrrrrrr.

  22. Barbara says:

Just beautiful….Aislinn is right; New Jersey hasn’t had one like that in a while either. This morning the sunrise has been snowed in. My part of the state is due to get close to a foot; friends north of me–none. Lisa–your section is really getting hammered. So it is really, really nice to see the warmth of your day. Thank you Ann

  23. D says:

Morning all – Ann – hubby and I are north of you in Palm Beach and you are right – nothing more to say with sun rises like that! Glorious!!!

  24. Aislinn says:

A beautiful sunrise. I haven’t seen one of those in a long time. It’s a gray, cold day in CT.

I want everyone to know that I spent 10 minutes with a Zumba instructor this morning. I was pumping…gas, that is. I gave her directions to the local Bally’s while I filled up my car. Boy, am I tired.

  25. christine walker says:

Wow! Nature is pretty amazing isn’t it?
