New Favorite Book Trailer

The other day, my editor encouraged me to look at some good book trailers to get an idea of something I might like for my novel. Apparently Brenda didn’t know that I’m an experienced book trailer director. Yes, that’s right. I directed the two critically ignored Julie Klam You Had Me at Woof trailers.

Here’s the first, my directorial debut, if you will.

This is my second video film.

On Second Thought

A Favorite Connecticut neighbor

As I mentioned, this past weekend I decided that it might be a good idea to move to California.

I’m Gonna See The Folks I Dig…

Look what our friend Moses saw in the snow!  Do you see it? The dog? It’s a dog, barking.

Spidey

Denis is in The Amazing Spiderman movie that will be released this summer in 3D.  Check out the AMAZING trailer:

Il Palio

Yesterday we took a little tour of the Tuscan countryside, courtesy of a very charming Florentine driver named Salvatore.

First we visited the beautiful medieval town of Siena which is famous for Il Palio – the summer horse races that take place in the astonishingly small town square. I had seen the races on American television and have always been amazed at the talented jockeys who ride the horses bareback. Yesterday, Salvatore explained that there are 14 horses in Il Palio – each representing a contrade or district in the city. People become very competitive with each other during the season and good friends will suddenly not speak to each other if they are from a competing region.

Such Bargains

Denis has no understanding of foreign currency rates. Fortunately he has me along to explain what bargains we’re getting. 2 euros is equal to 1 dollar, right? More or less. I’m pretty sure it’s something like that.

The Finale

On Wednesday, I drove into the city for the Rescue Me finale party.  For some reason, I had thought this was going to be sort of like a “wrap party” for cast and crew, but once I arrived in the city, I learned that it was going to be a slightly bigger deal, with a red carpet and press and everything.

Happy Bloomsday

Denis was in the city last night so not only was I not a witness to the bellowing. offerings of praise to the Lord, and tears of joy, but I was also completely unaware that the Bruins won the Stanley Cup last night until I read it on Twitter.  Very exciting. Go Bruins, etc.   I’m not a huge sports fan, but I love Boston dearly.

I was here in Connecticut trying to take photos of the full moon, which is very hard, due to moon illusion, which is a phenomenon that never ceases to fascinate me.  I took the above photo after the giant moon was just peeking above the trees on the horizon. Of course, it looked small in the photo, due to moon illusion.

A Day at the Lake

An Afternoon Swim

My dad just sent me this photo of my brother, sister and me when we were kids. It’s on my bio page, but I don’t think he knows that, so I thought I’d post it here.  Yes, that’s me on the left, not Jay Leno.  I was always topless in childhood photos. I didn’t think it was fair that the boys in the neighborhood didn’t have to wear shirts in the summer and I refused to wear one until I had almost reached puberty.
